Show CUeflfling Bells; Porter-Mann. The marriage, Wednesday evening, of Miss Mary Claire Porter and Mr. Charles Spencer Mann at St. Paul's church was the- society event of the fall season, and was witnessed by Salt Lake's most fashionable set. The ceremony cere-mony was performed at 6:30 by Rev. Charles E. Perkins, while Professor McClellan played softly the "Spring Song" selection. The bridal party entered en-tered the church to the strains of the "Bridal Chorus." The ushers, Mr. George Lawrence, Lieutenant White, Mr. William Wall and Mr. Fred Phelps, entered first, followed by the bridesmaids, brides-maids, the Misses Mclntyre, McMillan, McGuigan and Kinney. Then came the little ring bearer, Master David Keith, and the flower girl, little Erminie Calvin. Cal-vin. Miss Holabird, the maid of honor, hon-or, walked alone, just preceding the bride, who entered with her father. As the party reached the chancel steps it was met by the groom and his best man, Mr. Sam Porter, and the ceremony cere-mony followed. . The Mendelessohn "Wedding March then pealed forth as the happy group filed out of the church, and, accompanied by many relatives and immediate friends, went to the Kenyon hotel, where an elaborate wedding wed-ding supper was served. The hotel parlors par-lors were beautifully decorated, the color scheme being the same as at the church. The bridal party was seated at a large table and arranged around it were twelve smaller ones for the guests. Here an enjoyable two hours was spent. The presents received were numerous and valuable. The groom's gift to the bride was a deed to a beautiful Los Angeles home. Among the other presents pres-ents were silver sets, household furniture, furni-ture, cut glass articles and numerous others. The bride is the daughter of Mr. end Mrs. Don H. Porter of this city and , the groom is a young business man of Los Angeles. Both are well Known and well liked. They left on the.lC:50 train for Portland. From there they will go to their; future home in Los Angeles. . - . |
