Michael Marshall was ordained a Teacher. Joni Barton graduated from Primary to Young Women's. Roberta Dix Irish went through the St. George Temple for her endowments. Colleen Miller and daughter Melissa took her mother Nan Johnson John-son to St. George for a medical checkup. The Johnsons have moved here from Bountiful. They live in the former Tom Partridge home. Larry and Linda Marvicka had family visiting. Robert and Lynese Miller went to St. George for medical appointments. appoint-ments. Delilah Smith is home from her long Christmas visit with daughter Elaine in Salt Lake City. Congratulations to the Bobette Drill Team, the basketball teams and wrestling teams on their outstanding out-standing performances this winter. Lowell and Alice Henrie went to Gunnison to see the high school production of "The Sound of Music". Mu-sic". Val Henrie's youngest son Aaron was in the operetta. They also saw Robert and Cindy Judd's daughter Melinda, as the lead performer. per-former. Michael and Casey Howard Franklin brought their young son to visit grandparents Clark and Flora Howard and great-grandmother Ramona Howard. Craig and Vicki Heaton and family and her mother, Darlene Hilton, flew to Florida for a lumber convention. Keith and Sharron Moore have been touring this winter. It looked like "old home week" up at Panguitch Lake on a beautiful, beauti-ful, sunny day recently. At least half of Panguitch must have been there ice fishing. One problem showed up. The north shore road was a mess. Two Talbot ladies nearly got stuck in the mud and unployed portions of the road. Our love goes out to Reba Gleave and all the Gleave and Le- Fevre families at the death of Larry Gleave. Many folks went to Antimony Anti-mony for the funeral. The two Daughters of the Utah Pioneers camps held their February meetings at the city library. Ingra Richards gave a history of her great-grandmother great-grandmother Sarah Jane Snyder Dickenson, whose father knew the LDS prophet Joseph Smith. The history was written by Ingia's mother Sadie Ipson. The Dickenson Dicken-son family lived on Dickenson hill on the southwest corner of town. Elizabeth Foy read a "love story" about her grandparents Fed and Ann E. Lyman, who were early settlers of Oak City. The lesson was on non-mormon immigrants who came to Utah. Irene Cooper has twin great-grandsons great-grandsons born to Jay Hales, son of Terry and Sandra Cooper. Grandma Irene and aunt Carla Owens went to Cedar City to see the family. Howard Johnson had surgery in the VA Hospital. His son Mark and wife Betty Johnson visited Howard there and then came to Pangutich and spent the night with Betty's mother, Doris Nichols. Melitta Schaeffer went to California Cali-fornia to recover from her illness at the home of her son Fred. Smith Willis is home from the hospital. His daughter Jeanne has been here visiting with her folks. LaRue Thorton had heart surgery sur-gery in Salt Lake City. Daughter Corrine Englestead was there with her mother for a time. Corrine is back now, so LaRue must be doing better. Twenty-three young people rrom tne ranguncn lus second Ward went to St. George for bap-tisimal bap-tisimal work. Florence Hathcock's sister came to help her with daughter Tonia's wedding. The Tom Marshall family came from Cedar City to watch Mikey wrestle. Big brother Tim and family fam-ily came, also. Vera Wilcock is home from Valley View Medical Center. Her daughter Ira Lou and husband have moved in to take care of her for awhile. All four of Dorothy Houston's sons and their families were here for mom's 80th birthday. The Houston Hous-ton clan and other friends and relatives rela-tives came from St. George and other places for the birthday bash and also for grandson Erin Houston's Hous-ton's missionary farewell. Lena Miller is in the hospital in Panguitch. She fell and broke her shoulder on one side and broke her wrist on the other. John and Marjorie Crofts were here visiting. Their granddaughter Heather Holman was called on an LDS mission to California. She is a daughter of Wayne and Sandra Holman. Roberta Stowell Fowler took son Jeff Fowler to the LDS missionary mis-sionary training center in Provo to prepare for his mission to West Virginia. Grandma Merle Stowell is sorry that Roberta couldn't come to Panguitch for the day and visit. Richard and Betty Crosby from Yorba Linda, Calif, visited with Jay and Maxine Crosby on the way to Provo to visit daughter and husband Tiffany and Lando Voyle. Panguitch natives Bob and Beverly Davis have been down from the north. Bell Boyter Smith is enjoying a stay with her sisters Neucile Henrie and Julia Steele. Merle and Pauline Prince were called as LDS temple coordinators for the Panguitch LDS 3rd Ward. Cindy Johnson was sustained as camp director in the ward. Stacee Stewart, Nicole Orton, Brendon Soper, and Dani Griffin were awarded their Gospel in Action awards. James and Rachel Keller and sons Marson and Williams became be-came members of the ward, also. Craig Barney and Afton Morgan talked about family history and church history. Erin Fischer was the youth speaker. Lawrence and Margaret Frandsen Frandsen and her daughter Kami, along with Margaret's sister Nina. They stayed with son Lloyd Frandsen' Frand-sen' s family and attended a swimming swim-ming tournament in Provo where Lloyd's twins won several awards. The boys are students at Bingham High School. The Deseret Industries trailer wil be at the LDS Stake Center from Feb. 24 until Mar. 1 and will accept ac-cept donations of clothing and other goods. Mack and Pat Oetting's 40th wedding anniversary is on Feb. 26 and they are going to celebrate by taking a cruise to Alaska and spend five days touring the state. Mark says that Alaska is the only state he has not seen. Have a happy time, Mack and Pat! The Panguitch Susquicentennial Committee has asked the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers to put out a booklet of short stories, poems, and photos about the area for the July celebration. Anyone wishing to contribute please call Neucile Yaid-ley Yaid-ley at 676-2738 or send them to Box 396, Panguitch. The book needs to be completed by July, so folks need to get busy ! |
