Show Post Office Inspector Randolph of Salt Lake City spent a weary day in Milford last week in watchful waiting wait-ing for applicants for the Newhouse post office. C. H. Etlnger of Denver was transacting trans-acting business in Milford Tuesday and Wednesday. In order that modern vocational education may be fostered and encouraged en-couraged In the more or less rural districts of the State of Utah, the Department of Agricultural Education, Educa-tion, under the direction of Prof. C. D. Steiner, of the University of Utah, hereby offers a cash prize of one hundred dollars for an original three-act play (a two-act or a four-act four-act is also acceptable) dealing with educational and rural life. If a play suited to the purpose can be secured, it is the plan of the Department of Agricultural Education to arrange ! for its performance by the amateur talent who live in the various rural communities throughout the State. The contest is under the supervision; ot Prof. B. Roland Lewis (Play Writ-j Ing and History of the Drama in thej University) and in co-operation with the Extension division. Hon. J. F. Tolton of Beaver was inj Milford Wednesday. Supt. Maeser and wife spent Thursday in our city, Mr. Maeser being the principal speaker at the Home and School Organization meeting meet-ing at the county high school in the evening. Sheriff Fotheringham's smiling face was noticed on our streets this week. The genial sheriff was attending' attend-ing' to business matters incident to closing the year's business in his office and it has been . a very busy ryear. |
