Show Charged With Smashing Prohibitory Ordinance Fred Thayer was arrested Wednesday Wednes-day upon complaint signed by Marshal Mar-shal Baxter charging him with dispensing dis-pensing booze in his cafe. Thayer was arraigned before Justice Ingois and pleaded "Not guilty." His bond was fixed at $3 00 and signed by Messrs. Brooks and Kirk as sureties. A search warrant was procured and it is said that a pint bottle of liquor was found in the cafe. Thayer denies de-nies any knowledge of the presence of the liquor in his place of business. As a result of action in the Thayer complaint a number of citizens were summoned before Justice Ingois and County-Attorney Parsons last night, Attorney Woodbury loaning the use of his offices for the inquiry. It is rumored that the men were closely questioned concerning the presence of booze in Milford on Christmas day and, at other times. It is also rumored that further arrests may be made as a result of the inquiry. Fred Thayer will have his hearing before Justice Ingois Monday morning morn-ing at ten o'clock. |
