Show Theatre workshops set for Nov. 8-9th The public is invited to a series of four theatre workshops Nov. 8-9 and 15-16 from 7-10 p.m. nightly, at Promised Valley Playhouse, 132 S. State Street in Salt Lake City. A workshop on organizing theatre productions will be conducted con-ducted Nov. 8, by Dr. Harold Oaks, chairman of the Brigham Young University Theatre Department and a member of the Promised Valley Playhouse Advisory Board. Topics to be discussed dis-cussed include calendaring, advertising, and brainstorming. On Nov. 9, Dr. Marion Bentley of the Brigham Young University Uni-versity Theatre Department will present a workshop on staging a production. Topics to be discussed include acting, directing, blocking, movement, scheduling rehearsals, and use of rehearsal rehear-sal time. On Nov. 15, a workshop on artistic support will be conducted with several presenters covering topics such as costumes, make-up, music and choreography. Jannette Lusk, who is on staff at Promised Valley Playhouse, will direct the workshop on costumes; Susan Geertsen, a trained cosmetologist, will give instructions on application of makeup; Marilyn Montgomery, a local choreographer, will present the dance workshop and the music aspects will be covered by Cathy Amesbury, a member of the Promised Valley Playhouse staff. A workshop on the technical theatre production will be pre- sented on Nov. 16 by Lee Walker of the Brigham Young Univer- "' sity Theatre Department. Set design and building, lighting, sound and managing the stage and cast will be addressed. Cost per person is $7.50 per session or $20 for the entire f series. Group rates are available for participants from a ward, stake or region. Advance registration is required. Classes will be held in the Little Bowery at Promised Valley Playhouse.
