Show 9th annual 'Gobbler Giveaway' begins The largest retail promotion in the Bountiful area will soon be underway for the ninth consecutive year. Sandy Spalding, Dave Wilding and Jeff Stringham, along with other committee members mem-bers Bruce Barton and Sue Bingham, have met several times to complete plans for the annual Gobbler Giveaway and Gobbler Gallop. Over 200 businesses are expected to participate with the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce to provide an opportunity opportun-ity for customers to win a turkey at each participating business. In addition, at the close of the promotion there will be a chance to win the grand prize of a paid vacation for two to Mazatlan, Mexico, or a microwave oven, or one of 50 additional Norbest turkeys. Area residents are encouraged to watch for the names of participating businesses to be published in the Davis County Clipper and look for posters in the windows of welcoming businesses. The promotion will start on Wednesday, Nov. 9 and continue until the close of business on Saturday, Nov. 12. After each business has conducted their own drawing for one turkey, the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce will have the drawing for the other prizes on Tuesday, Nov. 15. All winners will be notified by telephone or mail. The Gobbler Gallop 5K (3. 1 mile) run will be held at 9 a.m. on ! Saturday, Nov. 12, beginning and ending at Tabernacle Square, Main and Center Streets in Bountiful. The first and second place man, and first and second place woman will receive a turkey. After the race there will be a drawing for at least 20 more turkeys for finishers of the race. Runners must be present to win. Each runner will receive a time and overall finish order. This has been a very popular run in past years and drawn runners from , throughout the state, as well as many from surrounding states. This is an opportunity for businesses to let residents know what is available and for customers to have fun shopping at home. Fill out a coupon at participating businesses and be a winner. |
