Show X I I - EDWARD T. ALTER Home-grown treasurer one of nation's 'best' By JUDY JENSEN Editor BOUNTIFUL Utah treasurer Edward T. Alter was named to City and State Magazine's third annual "All-Pro Government Management Manage-ment Team." Mr. Alter, who was raised in Bountiful and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1959, was selected as one of the nation's three outstanding state finance chiefs by a panel of 200 judges from the financial, political and academic acade-mic communities. This most recent honor is just one in a long line oT accomplishments accomplish-ments for Mr. Alter. After receiving his MBA, he became treasurer at the University of Utah. He was serving in that capacity when he was elected as Utah State Treasurer, Treasur-er, a position he has held since 1 98 1 . The magazine praised Mr. Alter for his management of Utah's funds and his efforts to maintain Utah's AAA bond rating. Mr. Alter is the son of E. Irving and Norma F. Alter, long-time Bountiful residents. He now lives in Salt Lake City with his wife Pat and their three daughters. |
