Show ' i . 1 1 i Delta crash survivor home By JUDY JENSEN Editor FARMINGTON James Fuchs, one of the passengers who miraculously survived the crash of Delta Flight 1141 last Wednesday, has returned home, and according to his wife Betsy, "He is recover ing just fine." Mr. Fuchs sustained two fractures frac-tures in his back when the Boeing 727 went down as it tried to take off from Dallas-Fort Worth International Interna-tional Airport en route to Salt Lake City. He was able to escape the burning plane along with most of the plane's passengers. There were 13 reported deaths and all were attributed to smoke inhalation. Mr. Fuchs, who has been a Delta pilot for 20 years, was a passenger on the ill-fated flight. She said Mr. Fuchs is still under a doctor's care and it has not yet been determined when he will be able to return to work. Mrs. Fuchs said she is very happy hap-py to have her husband at home. "The incident was very hard for him and it's difficult for him to talk about it," she said. |
