Show To celebrate 60th w K t? X The Rushforth family announces the 60th wedding anniversary of Merrill and Areta Rushforth of "nterville. They were married in Logan LDS Temple July 5, 1928. Their first home was in Salt Lake City. They built a home at 110 W. 280 S. , Centerville and have lived in that home since the mid 1930's. Merrill was born and raised in Kaysville and became field supervisor super-visor and in charge of the feed department de-partment for the Utah Poultry, now the Intermountain Farmers Assoc. He helped organize the Utah Fur Breeders Coop.and served as president presi-dent and director of the Utah Feed Dealers. He was also a director of the Ogden Grain Exchange. He was a charter member of the Davis County Posse and was its first president and continues to be active in the Jeep Posse. He served two terms on the Centerville Town Board and was a charter member and president and director of the Centerville Lions Club. Merrill was a game warden for 28 years and served as secretary and director in the Davis County Wildlife Wild-life Federation. He enjoys working with the youth and has been a merit badge counselor and committeeman for the local Boy Scout troops. Areta Porter was born in Peterson Peter-son and raised in Centerville. She has been active in the LDS Church teaching in Primary and Mutual. She has been homemaking counselor counse-lor in three Relief Society presidencies. presiden-cies. At present she is a visiting ARETA AND MERRILL RUSHFORTH teacher and visiting teacher supervisor. super-visor. She has been active in the Lady Literary Club and served that organization orga-nization in many capacities. This couple has two children, James M. Rushforth, married to Patricia Anne Elggren, Bountiful; and Dorene R. Jones, wife of J. Clark Jones, M.D., Murray. They will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a series of family get-togethers with their children, 1 1 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren. |
