Show Ui ' 1 ! ; " $ ? ' i 1 ' s -. fre6a Gurr Abplanalp ' Freda Abplanalp ; dies in Vernal Freda Gurr Abplanalp, 58, of Vernal, died of cancer June 11, 1982 at her home. Born Dec. 19, 1923 in Vernal to George Albert and Alice Victoria White Gurr. Married John Kimball Abplanalp June 9 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the Davis 1st Ward, a homemaker, served in the Primary presidency, and YWMIA, secretary of Junior Sunday School, and Relief Society visiting teacher for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mrs. Themla Scott and granddaughter, Teresa Ann Coltharp. Survivors are her husband of Vernal ; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Diane) Coltharp of Vernal, Alice Abplanalp of Vernal and Mrs. Doyle (Tammy) Holmes of Vernal; six grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Mr. Lawrence Gurr of Vernal, Mrs. Myrtle Murray of Jensen, Mrs. Willia, (Ilia) Allen of Vernal, Mrs. Bernice Jackson of Vernal, Mr. Earl Gurr of Jensen, Mrs. William (Madge) Jackson of Vernal, Mrs. Richard (Lola) Peterson of Jensen and Vera Gurr of Vernal. ; Funeral services were Monday, June 14 in the Davis 1st Ward Chapel. The family prayer was by Harold Harhblin, and Lena Walker. The invocation was by Mario Bowthorpe.' Following remarks by Bishop Nelson, Arden Stewart spoke. Jan King sang, "Somewhere My Love" accompanied by Laura Hacking. Mac Holmes spoke. Kay Hunting and Enola Montgomery sang, "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Marie Hatch. Larry Smuin gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by Marilyn Gurney. Earl Gurr dedicated the grave. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Jackson, Nolan Jackson, Steve Abplanalp, Chad Peterson, Boyd Bascom and Brent Shiner. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, Bryan, Dena, Bret, Jared, Rhett and Jeremy. The Davis 1st Ward Relief Society was in charge of the flowers. |
