Show OGDEN RIDERS AHEAD IN PURSUIT RACE interest in events kasnot Wa sNot so enthusiastic thusia as on former occasions from tuesday standard the bicycle races at the saucer track last night were not of a nature to cause any great enthusiasm nor did they excite any great interest although the success of the ogden riders murphy and farr inthe in the unlimited match team pursuit was very popular with the crowd in this race murphy and farr were matched against samuelson and redman the two teams starting at opposite sides of the track son and farr faced their teammates tor a mile or so and then dropped out and allowed the other two men to fight it out fora white it looked as it the provo sprint artists were to win but the staying powers of murphy were too much for the other lad and after going over two miles he was obliged to drop out and let the plucky ogden boy take the race it there was a lack of excitement in the other the unlimited pursuit race furnished th element that was lacking in the next to the last heat of this race as the riders were crossing ane tape goerke fell and in his endeavor to extricate himself from the wheel threw the machine catching the rear wheel of murphys Murp hys wheel and throwing that rider then duke kin who was following the bunch came tearing past and ran into murphy throwing ahlm to tha track at the time of the accident murphy was sprinting and would have undoubtedly won the race the halt mile match sprint best two out of three heats between gunn and mcfarlan was a tame affair gunn winning two straight heats the mile match motor race between samuelson and haeghen Ha egren was good during the first three miles haeghen led but by a magnificent spurt samuelson Samu eleon forged ahead in tho fourth mile only to have haeghen win out in the last half unlimited match team pursuit lur phy and farr first samuelson and redman second distance two miles and six laps time two mile open lap redman first farr second morgan third time 1 5 half mile match sprint best two of three heats gunn G two straight heats five mile match motor race hae gren first samuelson second |
