Show OLD FOLKS OF i UTAH STAKE ENJOY OUTING President Eggertsen Praises Old Folks for Achievements of Their Life. Everyone of the more than 500 old folks of Utah stake who participated par-ticipated in the annual outing at Vivian park Friday felt 25 years younger than they actunlly were. Everyone was young and gay once more. Boys of 80 were romping around with girls of 75, laughing and shouting just as in the days of yore. Even though the body was advanced in years, the spirit was as young as it had ever been. The old folks of the stake were taken to the Provo canyon resort in automobiles by committees from their respective wards. After a general gen-eral handshake and a renewing of old friendships and acquaintances, the guests of honor surrounded a large banquet table, actually groaning groan-ing under the heavy burden of the sumptuous and wholesome food that had been prepared for them. An interesting program was given in the pavilion at 2 o'clock. A welcome wel-come address was given by H. T. Reynolds of Springville and a response re-sponse was given by Andrew Knud-sen Knud-sen of Provo. solos were rendered Dy aliss .oiei-ba .oiei-ba Condie and Mrs. Cora Thorn : Bird both of Springville. A reading was given by Mrs. Pearl Yates of New York. Community singing was led by Professor J. R. Boshard accompanied accom-panied by the Provo band. The band under the direction of Professor Profes-sor Robert Sauer played several selections during the day. Representing the Utah stake presidency, President S. P. Eggertsen Eggert-sen gave an address in which he congratulated the old folks of the stake for the splendid and untiring work they had accomplished in building up and developing the county. Fallowing the program footraces j and other sports were indulged in. Everybody participated in the various var-ious events and thoroughly enjoyed the activities of the day. |
