Show MINING MATTERS. A Salt Lake Man's Venture New Finds-Dips Finds-Dips and Spurs. It is reported that J. A. Clark of this city and L. W. Parry of Ogden have just purchased pur-chased a group of valuable claims situated in the western part of Box Elder eounty, six miles southwest of Yost. The consideration considera-tion was SoOOO, which is to be paid on September Sep-tember 23d. Dips and Spurs. The new mining district iu Box Elder county is attracting a great deal of attention. atten-tion. The Chicago mine is said to have fifteen thousand tons of ore in sight. This is thought to be one of the most promising properties in this section of the country. Logan Jmirnal. W. H. Boothe came down from La Plata this week. He says the copper strike in the Sundown is a curious thing. They have, struck a fonr-foot vein of ore with a round, log-like formation of copper running through the middle. This peculiar vein is a foot thick. The strike caused a stir in camp and much talk outside. Brigham Bugler. - The fore part of this week, M. Benson re turned from the new George Creek mining district. He brought first class samples from the Bismarck, one of the group. This assays native silver 149 ounces; lead and gold. $35. They have ten tons of this ore on the dump and lots more in sight. They ex- I peet to ship soon. The closest railroad point is Kelton, thirty-three miles to the south. Brigham Bugler. Last week A. Callahan made a rich discov-! ery in the shape of a body of rich ore on a ridge northeast of Park valley says the Brighton Bugler. This is near the central part of Box Elder county. It is said to be the finest galena ore found in the country and is the best find for miles around. Most of the ravines in this neighborhood and George creek are almost alive w;ith prospectors. pros-pectors. Several samples of surpassingly rich gold float have been picked up, but 60 far the bodies of ore cannot be found. Much interest is being manifested in these western west-ern mines. |
