Show regular and special trains since yesterday morning. The convention was called to order at 11 o'clock in the rink by Hon. ML E. McAlpin, president of the league. He delivered an address of welcome, eulogized the work of the Minneapolis convention, and prophesied an overwhelming victory in this state next November. The usual committees were then appointed. Tonight there will be au immense im-mense mass meeting in the rink at which several congressmen and others will deliver addresses. The convention will be in session for two or three days. The city Is crowded with delegates to the annual convention con-vention of tiie state league of republican clubs. The event is of more than local in- rest its it is practically the first great state ratification meeting to endorse tho nominees tnd platform of the Minneapolis convenAtxm. The league has has a great growth in this state during the past two years. At the convention in Saratoga in 1VJ0 there were hardly 806 dob upon its roll. Now there are over 506, with a membership of nearly one hundred thousand, and a large majority of Ihcjae are represented.
