Calder, superintendent of the slate mental hospital at Provo, is in the city today in company with Slate Treasurer David Mattson, for the purpose of making examinations in eases of epilepsy and Imbecility in children in which the tuardlans of the afflicted have requested treatment in the .state institutions. The treatment of the feeble minded was made a separate department of the asylum by the last legislature. The superintendent was greatly pleased with Ogden. stating that there was a marked change In the city since last he islted here. He was the guest of Mr. Mattson and was given giv-en the opportunity of seeing points of Interest, particularly the sections of the city In which the greatest building activity Is in progress. He says the Dee Memorial hospital is a creditable building and that In hl6 opinion the hospital will compare favorably fav-orably with the most modern Institutions Institu-tions of its kind in the western country. |
