Show MOTORCYCLE RIDERS IN COURT In the criminal division of the municipal muni-cipal court this morning there was a dearth of business Last night was a quiet one In the commission of crime, and the record this morning was short. Henry Goss, a Greek, was arraigned on the charge of disturbing the peace with a motorcycle, the complaint alleging al-leging that the' machine wa.a ridden at a high rate of speed and in a reckless maimer. Goss pleaded mil guilty and the hearing of the case was. set for tomorrow morning. The witnesses for the city were not in court Dan McElroy failed to appear and answer the charge of drunkenness, nl-I nl-I b'ged to have been committed yesterday, yester-day, and his -hall. In thr sum of $;, was dec'ared forfeited. Robert Moore Acknowledged that he was '"unlawfully drunk" yesterday and he was sentenced to pay a fine of $5 or serve five days In the city Jail at hard labor. George Jacobs w,i charged with disturbing the peace, bill he was not in court to answer. His ball for $10 was forfeited. Jesse Whfeloek stated to the court that he was drunk yesterday. He was sentenced to pay a fine of .3 or spend five days In the city bastllc. Jim Murphy appeared and pleaded not guilty of disturbing the peace, as alleged in the complalni against him, he stating that he was ready for trial. Upon the statement of mo arresting officer that there were no witnesses agaiDet Murphy, the c:ty attorney asked for a dismissal of the rase. Jt w as so ordered. It. Ballnntyne pleaded not guilty to the charge of disturbing the peace, and the case was set for hearing tomorrow to-morrow morning. The complaint alleges al-leges that Ballantyne disturbed the peace by exceeding the speed limit with a motorcycle and otherwise riding rid-ing it in n reckless way. The case of the city against James Kelly for vagrancy was continued until un-til tomorrow. The ball of P. V. Buhler, accused of petit larceny, was forfeited, the defendant de-fendant not appearing for trial. The bail amounted to S.V The case of Y. F. Compton. charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, pre-tenses, was called, but not heard, the defendant not hHng in court His ball of $5 was declared forfeited. Carl Smith, the young man tried yesterda for drunkenness, was ordered or-dered released, the com stating that the man was likely not intoxicated when he slept under f.ie lawn hose at the Union depot a rew evenings ago.
