Show WILL TAKE TWO WEEKS Tests of Natural Gas to Commence at the Woolen Mills Being very desirous of obtaining the most accurate results possible the natural na-tural gas people will take In the neighborhood neigh-borhood of two weeks In making the tests of the steam generating powers of the natural fuel These tests are to be made at the Deseret Woolen mills where the boilers are being fitted out with the special burners which will be used hereafter in manufacturing plants where the gas is adopted as the fuel In addition to the gas tests experiments experi-ments are to be made with the various vari-ous kinds of coal In order to determine i deter-mine just what the gas will do as compared with the coal The fires are to be lighted early in the week So impatient are the people throughout through-out the city to have their residences connected up with the natural gas that It is the Intention of the management of the company to during the week add several new districts to that in which the product of the Lake Shore wells is now giving such great satisfaction satis-faction Very slow progress Is now being made with the driving of the new well at the Lake Shore fields the workmen work-men being alarmed lest they breakthrough break-through Into the gas reservoir without warning The foot of the pipe is now down nearly 900 feet which is some 70 feet deeper than the deepest of the spouters from which the supply of gas is being received The Great Salt Lake Natural Gas and Fuel company people are pushing their pipe downwards and making fair progress They are of the opinion that within a few weeks they will have a splendid flow of the product for which they are searching The well is located on the old Le Grande Young farm to the northwest of the Lake Shore wells |
