Show MAY OPERATE TRACTION ENGINES Great Project Being Considered by the Ibex Syndicate For some time past the members of the Ibex syndicate have had under consideration considera-tion a proposition to put on a line of traction trac-tion engines or steam wagons with a train of trail wagons between the smelter at Leamington and the Ibex mines in the Detroit district for the purpose of transporting without the porting the ore and supplies wihout aid of animal power The negotiations have now reached such a point that every Indication points to the success of the undertaking and it is anticipated that while he Is in the territory President Un derwood of the syndicate will make the necessary contracts for the wagons At any rate he will go south about the third day of the week and thoroughly review the situation He spent yesterday at the Commercial in BIngham and was highly pleased with the manner in which the plant is operating Should the steam wagons be put on it is estimated that the cost of delivery for the ore would not be more than onehalf of what it is today These engines are entirely traction and will follow the road drawing from 6 to 100 tons and making In the neighborhood of five miles per hour The promoters of the enterprise have also in view the placing of a number num-ber of machines in other mining and agricultural ag-ricultural districts of the territory |
