Show AN AMERICAN THOUGHT HE WAS THE "LOST DAUPHIN" One of the most famous unsolved mysteries of all time is that of the little "Lost Dauphin" of France, the son of Louis XVI, who disappeared during the French Revolution. He 'might have been forgotten had it not I been for the fact that for many years (afterward there appeared regularly men who claimed that they were the . lost prince, but who were invariably proved to be impostors. Strange as it may seem, one of these claimants was an American, and due to his activity in New York and Wisconsin, both of those states are closely connected with the "Lost Dauphin" Dau-phin" mystery.
