Show Lions Club Wants Flood Protection Mt. Pleasant Lions met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Anthon W. Madsen in their regular meeting, 'there were twenty-three seated at the table. In the absence of President Holman 'Vice-president Joseph Matson took 'iharge of the meeting until the doctor came. - Following the opfcning song, "America" and prayer by Bishop A. L. Peterson E. L. Swalberg, a guest from Gunnison, sang "Song of the Lighthouse Light-house Bell" and "Neptune." Guy Candland reported the the railroad rail-road has given him some encouragement encourage-ment on the request for a bell signal at the road crossing near the depot. Dr. Holman told the club that the Kiwanis club at Nephi wanted a basket ball game with the local club next Saturday at Nephi and asked the club members to go to Nephi and participate in the game. The flood question was taken up and discussed, the club being in favor ol building a protection against the floods. E. W. Wall said it was necessary to determine the kind of dam, and Joseph Matson suggested and advised that the club work with the City Council and the Fa i-m Bureau. : Dr. Holman spoke of the county exhibit ex-hibit at the State Capitol and Fred Rasmussen talked on co-operation. |
