OCR Text	Show Red Grange's Old Mate Now Serving as Mentor Kussell (Pug) Dougherity, former football teammate of "Bed'' Grange at Illinois, has just become coach of basket ball at Bice institute at Houston. Hous-ton. Dougherity made a name for himself him-self In football as well as basket ball at Illinois, where he was graduated last June as a bachelor of science in physical education. As a hack-field running mate of Grange, Dougherity did some of the blocking and interfering interfer-ing that cleared the path for Grange's sensational dashes. In lOl'f! he scooped up a fumble and ran S,"i yeards to defeat de-feat Chicago by 7 to C. In basket ball Dougherity led the Big Ten in scoring and was unanimous1 unani-mous1 choice for All-Western conference confer-ence forward.
