' Wirrford Bunce Candidate for Mayor Harold Jacobs Candidate for Mayor Moab City voters go to the polls next Tuesday, along with voters from municipalities municipal-ities across the state, lo vote for the men who will govern their city for the next four years. Interest in the election this year will not be limited to those people who live in the ( i ; 0 ' . In'"-1 mum - .in imliiinii nilr .r-" city limits even though they are the only ones allowed to vote. Since the outcome of the fluoridation issue will affect af-fect many people who live just outside the city limits, they too will be looking for the results. The race for the three offices of-fices available this year has if .,; J Arden Johnson Candidate for Mayor been growing more heated with each passing week. There are four candidates vying for the office of Mayor May-or and an additional four who wish to capture the two available City Council seats. Citizens will have one final fin-al chance to read the campaign cam-paign statements of the various var-ious men which appear along with a picture on the editorial editor-ial page. In addition, elsewhere else-where in this issue are lis1.-ed lis1.-ed statements by both those proposing and opposing the addition of fluoride to the city water supply. Each voter, vot-er, if he has not done so already, al-ready, should take the time to read these statements and better familiarize himself him-self with the issues at hand. Running for the office of Mayor are incumbent Winford Win-ford Bunce, Harold Jacobs, Richard Parsons, and Arden Johnson. Mayor Bunce has cited his accomplishments for the last four years and other projects that are planned plan-ned for the coming four as reasons for his reelection. Harold Jacobs, who is responsible re-sponsible for the fencing project North of town, has been campaigning on a platform plat-form of integrety and sincerity. sin-cerity. Parsons has stated his eight years on the City Council will be beneficial and also his dissatisfaction with the way things have been handled by the City during the present administration's adminis-tration's term in office. Arden Ar-den Johnson the final candidate, can-didate, who is running on the Citizen's Party ticket, expresses his desire for the separation of the City and County law enforcement offices of-fices as long as this method of enforcement is effective for the City of Moab. On the ticket for City Council are two men of the Citizen's Parly who are: J. Kay Hawks, who is interested interest-ed in obtaining light industry indus-try to increase employment in this area, and Earl F. Blank who is actively fighting fight-ing the problem of drug abuse in this community. As independents are: Robert Migilori who hopes to work for economy in government and Jack West, the incumbent. incum-bent. Mr. West lists the decision de-cision making problems of Cily government and also expresses his pride in the things accomplished during his four year term. More detailed explanations of each man's projects and aims appear, as was mentioned men-tioned before, on the editorial editor-ial page. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the various var-ious precincts on election day. Voting officials will begin be-gin counting the ballots at 10 a.m. on election day, nc results will be made available avail-able until at least 8 p.m. that evening. The vote tabulators tab-ulators will then release the results to that time, if however, how-ever, they are almost finished finish-ed with the couning, they will continue to check the ballots before releasing any figures.
