Show 18 Wildlife Violations Filed in Utah Courts The Division of ild-: ild-: life Resources has filed counts for 18 separate ' violations of the Wild-I Wild-I life Code in three Bea-( Bea-( ver County courts following fol-lowing two months of ' intensive investigations in connection with lion hunting activities in southwestern Utah. The counts include: hunting cougars without necessary permits or a license, unlawful possession pos-session of cougars, unlawful un-lawful taking of protected pro-tected species of birds, shooting from vehicles and littering. As part of the investigation, inves-tigation, Division Law Enforcement officers obtained a search warrant war-rant to pick up one live cougar which was being held illegally. They also cooperated with the Bureau Bu-reau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife to place a hold on an illegal hide found in California. According to Law Enforcement En-forcement Chief John Xagel. these activities reflect an increased effort ef-fort on the Division's part to ensure that the public, adheres to and follows regulations established es-tablished in the 1971 Wildlife Resources Code and rules and regulations reg-ulations established by the Wildlife Board. |
