Show Literary Club Celebrates 75th Anniversary of Service to Moab The fellowship hall of the Community Baptist Church was the setting for the 75th birthday party of the Womans Literary Club of Moab. A buffet-banquet was served at 6:30 p.m. for members, their husbands, hus-bands, and honored guests. Guests included Mrs. Florence How land. Eastern District President Pres-ident of the I'tah Federation Feder-ation of Womens Clubs. Mrs. Pearl Baker. President of the Green River Womans Club and past presidents who are non-members. Mrs. Tom (Joyce) Randolph of El Paso. Texas. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. T.N. Coulter of Rifle. Colo. The colors of the club, yellow and green, were carried out -in the dec -"orations.. One beautiful" centerpiece was donated by Add-a-Bud Floral and another was loaned by Mrs. George Hayes. The bakeries at both Millers Supermarket and City Market donated donat-ed birthday cakes. Following the banquet, ban-quet, introductions and acknowledgements were made and a short history his-tory of the club was given. A highly imagin- alive and comical fashion fas-hion show was then presented. Untitled "'Far West, Far Out, Far Fetched. Fashion Festival, the show featured fea-tured home sew n clothes with the members modeling mod-eling t h e i r own creations. crea-tions. Mistress of Ceremonies Cere-monies for the show was Mrs. J.W. C'orbin. Models Mod-els included Mrs. Marvin Mar-vin Jensen. Mrs. Slim Mabery. Mrs. Lee Wangsgaard. Mrs. Harold Har-old Jacobs. Mrs. John Levering. Mrs. Sidnev Pool. Mrs. Mars Pope. Mrs. Gladys Oliver, Mrs. N'.S. C'hristensen, Krs. Carroll Meador, and Mrs. Flora Kvans. Much of the success of the birthday party can be attributed to Mrs. Lester Taylor who was the chairman for the food and lo the ladies lad-ies of the church who prepared it. Mrs. J.W. C'orbin was chairman for decorations. The next meeting of the Literary Lit-erary Club will be April 2 at 7:30 p.m. in ihe council chambers. |
