Becky and Jill were chosen as the representatives, re-presentatives, with Belinda and Louan as first and second alternates. Girls Sfate Candidates Chosen Here Monday The American Legion Auxiliary met Monday, March 19 at 8:00 p.m. to select two representatives represent-atives and two alternates to represent Moab at Girls State which will be held June 3-9 at Cedar City. Utah. Selected as representatives were Jill Cook and Becky Hayes. Belinda Ferguson Fergu-son was chosen as first alternate with Louan Tabberer as second alternate. al-ternate. Jill Cook is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. FIlis Cook. Jr.. 532 Rosetree Lane. Miss Cook is active in the Thespian Club and Girls Glee Club and a member mem-ber of the National Honor Society. Becky Hayes, also chosen as a representative, representa-tive, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George lla.es. 474 Walker St. She has been a cheerleader cheer-leader for four years and is a member of the FH A and Pep Club. First alternate. Belinda Be-linda Ferguson, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ferguson. No. 4 Holiday Hol-iday Haven. Belinda is a cheerleader, and a member of the National Honor Society, the Pep Club and FHA. Louan Tabberer, who was chosen as second alternate, is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tabberer, 402 Park Drive. Miss Tabberer Tab-berer is the secretary of the Junior Class and Vice President of the FHA. She is alsoa member mem-ber of the drill team and the National Honor Society. Soc-iety. Other candidates interviewed in-terviewed for the honor of attending Girls State were: Laura Dalton. Linda Dalton. Marlene Johnson. Cindy Key. Kaihy Lavs lev. Maurine Meador. Hilarie Mobley. Johanna Nielson. Kathy Robinson and Flizabeth Ruggeri. The girls who attended Girls State last year1 were Diane Gal-braith Gal-braith and Janet Mars-ing. Mars-ing. The birthday of the American Legion is April. A dinner will be held in celebration. |
