Show Moab Student Honored In Competition Competition in the Region Re-gion 10 Solo and Ensemble Ensem-ble festival was held Tuesday at Carbon College Col-lege in Price, with one Moab girl recognized as the "Best of the Festival" Fes-tival" in piano. Cindy Wiseman of Moab was awarded the prize as the outstanding pianist of the competition, competi-tion, which included both . vocal and instrumental works. Other Moab students stu-dents in the competition were Lorri Merrill, who received a 2 plus rating; Bruce Raymond, Dottie Walker, Belinda Mead and Linda Hilton, all of whom received ratings of two. All of the Grand County students in the competition study piano under Mrs. Joan Cox of Moab. Other "Best of the Festival" awards went to a Monticello group for the best vocal ensemble; en-semble; to Kent Adams of San Juan High School for the outstanding brass solo: to Matthew Thomas Thom-as of Monticello for the outstanding percussionist: percussion-ist: and to Jess Van Tassel Tas-sel of Tabioria for being the outstanding vocalist: and to the Monticello students for having the outstanding wood wing group, a woodwind choir. |
