Show 5b STANDARP-M- oy 6. 1 976 Relief Society performs today On Thursday, May 6, a dramatic production, Melt Down My Pewter will be presented by the Duchesne Relief Society. The production was written by Moana B. Bennett, and is directed by Janet Oman and LaVere Kemp. The story is told through the eyes of women, of their part in establishing a land of freedom when the United States was being born. Costumes depict this early time in American history, and refreshments include traditional American foods. The relief society is open to all women ' 18 years of age and older, or younger if married. There are no restrictions. COUPLE PLANS JUNE 16 TEMPLE RITES Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Roberta, American Falla, Idaho, announce the engagement of their daughter LeeAnn to Alan Haslem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Haslem, Roosevelt, Utah. LeeAnn is a 1974 graduate of American Falls high school where she was involved in student government and journalism. She graduated in April from Ricks College, Rexburg, Idaho, with an Associate Degree in Sociology. Alan is a 1975 graduate of Union high school in Roosevelt. He attended Rides College where he majored in accounting. The couple are planning a June 16th marriage in the LDS Temple at Idaho Falls, Idaho. They 'will make their home at Cedar City, Utah where they will be attending school at Southern Utah State College. COUPLE WED APRIL 1 6 IN TEMPLE CEREMONY The former Marilyn Louise Brighton of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Ronald Lee Mecham of Lapoint were united in marriage in the Provo LDS Temple Friday morning April 16. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Brighton of Idaho Falls. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Mecham of Lapoint Following the ceremony the couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at the Golden Apple in Orem given by the bridegroom's parents. A reception was held that evening in the Crystal Room of the Continental Plaza in Provo. Matron of honor at the reception was Mrs. Gary Jones. Other bridal attendants were Maxine Brighton, Arlene Mecham, Gaylene East and Diana Knight Wes Monierth performed the duties of best man. The couple was feted at an open house in Idaho Falls, on April 24. The couple will make their home in Provo. Friendship club meets Mrs. Arlene Thompson hosted Friendship Club in her Duchesne home last Wednesday night. Eleven members were present The group played progressive bingo arid were served a dessert luncheon. 'Spring Fling' set at DHS Plans for the 1976 "Spring Fling at Duchesne high school are underway. The event will be held May 14, featuring activities and topics about home economics. At 9:45 Friday morning, a gymnastics program will be performed. From 10:15-12:0guest speakers will conduct sessions about creative hobbies. group Mrs. Gene Stephenson will be talking about and illustrating cake decorating, Elden Wilcken will present a session on designing rock jewelry. Loreen Stanford and Linda Bench will demonstrate ceramics, and Kathy Young will demonstrate hair styling. All students within the East Elementary attendance area will be screened at that school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. One day of screening will be held at Roosevelt Elementary on Thursday, May 20, for the students living 17-2- 1 in that area. PARENTS OF ALL children wOl be notified by phone andor mail indicating the time and date their child is to be evaluated.
