Show 6 STANDARD-M- ay 6. 1976 Nswi Mewl Frosi MYTON ly CsMa Mckeas successful A very Bicentennial-committe- e meeting was held Saturday evening at the Myton Presbyterian Church, with 18 committee members present All committee chairmen gave their reports to Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray, who report that the Bicentennial event set for July 3rd is beginning to take shape. e Mrs. H. C. Cooper would like to send invitations to any former residents of Myton for the Bicentennial celebration. Anyone knowing the where abouts of any of these people, please send their names and addresses to Mrs. Cooper at Myton. Mr. Francis Douglas of Salt Lake City was the speaker for Sunday Services at I . the Presbyterian Church. He was accompanied here by his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Cargill and aon Charles were here from Idaho for the weekend with their daughter and family, Lanny and Kathy Ross. Cub Scout Pack meeting was held Friday evening under the direction nf Randy Bywater. David Richena and Mike Ross received their Bear awards; Merrill J. Fausett and Wayne Fillingim each received a wolf award; Wade Uresk claimed a Bobcat award. After the business part of the meeting the Cube enjoyed a treasure hunt. a Mark and Becky Crandall came from their home in Salt Lake City on Saturday to visit with Becky's mother and family the Dari Beals. They spent the day picnicing in Nine Mile and the Sand Wash area. e Dari Beal made a trip to Kama over the weekend to bring bad; a piece of farm machinery. e Mr. and Mrs. Jack Uresk came Monday to pick up their two little girls who had been spending a day or two with their grandparents, John and Bonnie '.-- i gF7&:T'!W V'; S' w "i .. ). DHS BOYS STATE-Fi- ve "i students from Duchesne will attend Boys State this year: Lonnie Millett, Brown, Bruce Taylor and Mark I bach. Gene Wilkerson, Bret DHS students to attend Boys State The Duchesne American Legion Post 22 and several merchants of Duchesne are sponsoring six Duchesne high school students who were chosen to attend the 1976 Boys State Convention at the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah (Utah State University). The following junior boys were selected by the Legion screening committee; Mark Edward I back, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Ibach, Gene S. Wilkerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilkerson, Lonnie Daniel Millet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Millett, Bret Mott Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Deon E. Brown, Bruce LeRoy Taylor, son of Mr. and, Mrs. Arthur Taylor and Clayton Leon Foy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Foy, was chosen as an alternate candidate. These boys will be leaving on the 5th of June with other chosen beys from the basin area. The week from Sunday, June 6, 1976, through Saturday, June 12, 1976 will enable these boys to understand and participate in government and political proceedures used in the nation. Members of the American Legion Post 22 have put in many hours of effort to obtain enough money to sponsor these Uresk. ' left Wednesday for Columbia, South Carolina, where Jack has a summer job with the Bureau of young men and the following merchants of Duchesne are also participating in sponsoring: First Security Bank, Zions First National Bank, Commercial Club, Kohls, Duchesne Drug; El Cid, Wells Club, Frost Top, ElTs Motel, Polar Queen, Harrison Conoco, Western Auto, Karren's Korner, Gateway Motel, Western Star Beauty Salon, Kennison State Farm Insurance Agency, Uncle Bob's Pizza Cabin, Woody's Mobile Home Village and Wilkerson's Food Mart They Land Mines. The employment will also take them to Virginia and West Virginia, after which Jack will return to BYU in the fall to work on his Master's degree, e Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fausett kept a medical appointment in Salt Lake on Friday. e Mr. and Mrs. Kent Wilson are the parents of a new baby boy, born May 2nd. The new addition to the family haa an older sister and brother awaiting his Jr. livestock show May 11 wnk mw-wjt- f .... in Altamont The public is invited to attend the Chapter FFA 84th annual Jr. Livestock show to be held Tuesday, May 11 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Altamont rodeo grounds. Sheep, beef, swine, dairy, and western pleasure, halter class, and barrel and pole racing will be exhibited. There will be no admission. Exhibits are open to and FFA Moon Lake 4-- homecoming. e Senor Mortensen is happy to be home again after a hip operation in Salt Lake last week. e Mr. and Mrs. Afton Richens returned home Sunday after a business trip to ' Tucson, Arizona. While they were in Arizona, they visited with their son Reed and wife at St David, e The Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian Church will quilt each Wednesday at the Church during the summer months.
