Show STANDARD - May 6. 1976 DHS students take math test Eight students from Duchesne high school competed in the 20th annual high school mathematics contest in Provo recently. More than 2,800 students participated from throughout the state. Paul Behrmann and Fred Hayes ranked in the top ten students scores for Region 10. Behrmann ranked second in Region 10, and Hayes ranked ninth. Other participants from DHS are: Debra Hayes, Cris Madsen, Todd Millett, Brent Gunderson, Donna Hayes and Mark Ostler. Their math instructor is Mr. Potter at DHS. She received a broken hip results of a very bad falL Lena summoned her neighbors Devon and Oral Fenn who got her to the local hospital and she was later transferred to the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Alvey. Lena's parents Mr. and Mrs. Reed Anderton went to Salt Lake Sunday to be there when Lena had surgery. It is the report today that Lena will be in a cast for months. Everyone sends their best wishes and hopes she can come home soon. ' Bud and Maryann Timothy and family from Salt Lake spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude McDonald to attend sacrament meeting for the naming of the infant son of Doug and Marsha Timothy. He received the name of Sean Timothy. Other weekend at the McDonald home were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Timothy and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McDonald of Salt company Lake. Mrs. Margaret Loranger was hostess at a Sarch Coventry showing Tuesday. Mrs. Thelma Anderton entertained at a quilting bee during the week. Don and Linda Shcwarz and baby girl came from Las Vegas for Easter with her Ei)Gli3ExS fl parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bowden. Tuesday they went to Salt Lake to spend some time with Don's parents before he returned' to work. His friends and neighbors wish him a speedy recovery and that he will soon be home. Brenda Shaw and babies Heather and Stacey from Salt Lake spent the week with her grandparents, the Max Nelson's while here she held several parties. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaw motored to Idaho Falls, to visit a few days with their daughter Evelyn and Grant Johnson. Also spending some time in Salt Lake with son A. D. and family. Gene and Pat Ostler spent the weekend in Logan with friends. .Mr. and Mrs. Leland Mecham are grandparents to a baby girl born to son Jody and Julie Mecham in local hospital April 29. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alan Long. e Mr. Walter Martin entered the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake Monday where he will under go surgery Tuesday. His wife Ruth is in Sait Lake with him. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bird have a new grandson born to daughter Beverly and Dee Hullinger April 28th in local hospital the new arrival weighed 9 lbs. and 1 os. and has 2 brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kettle were in Salt lake last Saturday to see their father, Marvin, Kettle, who is in the Veteran's hospital. They reported that their father is doing good and he can get out of bed and walk around. Last Monday he underwent another operation for skin grafting on his arm. It will still be awhile before he can come home. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Evans and children of Brigham City spent last Saturday with their parents, the Zane Asays. e Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Judd moved off the Moss place and went back to California. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Atwood of Roosevelt have moved to the Moss place. Lamonie Heaton and boys from Salt Lake were over night visitors at the Verdon Heaton home last Saturday. Ellen Rasmussen was in Salt Lake last Friday for medical attention for herself and Sherri. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Johnson are here from Calif., visiting their mother, Melba Eldredge, and may. decide to make their 9 home here in the basin. N Those that had been baptized and were confirmed into Ballard LDS Church Sunday in sacrament meeting were Edna Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hamilton. The baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Pickup was blessed by LaRue Pickup in sacarment meeting in Ballard Sunday and given the name of Shanna Ray.
