Qualifications: at a fL ordinance. See. 2 A New Home Occupation ordinance is hereby adopted as part of the Roosevelt City Zoning Ordinance as follows: Section Purpose. Home Occupation Permit Required. Conditions. Fee. Noncompliance. Nonconforming Permit Not Renewable. Business License Required. Purpose. The purpose of this section is to protect the character of residential neighborhoods in Roosevelt City by regulating the type and extent of any use of a residence for purposes other than as a dwelling unit. Home Occupation Permit Required. To assure compliance with the provisions of this Section, a Home Occupation Permit shall be obtained from the City Planning Commission before a dwelling unit in a residential zone may be used for business purposes. Conditions. Each of the following conditions must be observed at all times by the holder of a Home Occupation PermiL 1. The home occupation shall be conducted entirely within the dweDing and shall be carried on in the dwelling only by members of the residing family. An attached garage is not to be considered as part of the dwelling for use of a home occupation. 2. The borne occupation shall not involve the use of any accessory buildings now yard space for storage of activities outside of the dwelling. 3. Not more than the (25) equivalent of twenty-fiv- e percent of the ground floor area of the dwelling shall be . devoted to the home oceupa- tfcn. ,4. The home occupation is clearly incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling . tools shall be permitted except those items which are commonly associated with a residential use or as are customary with home crafts. 7. No advertising shall be displayed on the premises with the exception of a sign for identification purposes only. Such a sign must be attached to the residence and shall be no larger than 240 square inches. 8. The home occupation shall not alter the residential character of the premises or unreasonably disturb the peace and quiet, including radio and television reception of the neighborhood fay reason of color, design, materials, construction lighting, sounds, noises, or vibrations. 9. The home occupation shall not generate pedestrian or vehicular traffic in excess of that customarily associated with the zone in which the use is located. 10. Any special conditions becomes nonconforming upon the adoption of this Title from be transferred from one person to another nor from one location to another. Business License Required. A Home Occupation Permit is not a business license, and the granting of said Permit shall not relieve the permittee of any other license requirement of Roosevelt City or of any other public agency. Sec. 3. Effective Date. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the municipality shall take effect immediately.
