Show uu Wood Files Papers ai Annapolis, Md. BALTIMORE. April 15 An end was made today to Jockeying over whether a flplu should bo made for the Republican delegation to the national na-tional convention from tbis state., when Major General Leonard Wood's papers were filed with the secretary of state at Annapolis. The papers were filed by Lieutenant Col. John I Philip Hill, candidate for the Republican Repub-lican nomination for congress in the third district, and Identified with the organization forces. Earlier in the day Senator Hiram ! Johnson's papers were taken to Annapolis An-napolis but were not filed. Dr. William Wil-liam L. Robins, of Washington, took the papers to Annapolis, but before' he reached there the office of the! secretary of state was called by Representative Rep-resentative Elston of California, a friend of Senator Johnson, who asked ask-ed that Dr. Robins be requested to call him on tho telephone before filing fil-ing the papers. Dr. Robins called Rep. Elston and then left Annapolis without filing tho papers. Ho asked what tho limit was for filing and was told midnight Saturday. |
