Large Crowd at Dedication of Amphi-Theatre A large crowd gathered at Mutual Dell in American Fork canyon Wednesday Wed-nesday evening for the dedication: exercises of the rustic amphitheatre, amphi-theatre, recently completed. Residents of the north Utah, county, Wasatch National Forest officials of-ficials and city and church leaders participated in the dedication. The amphi-theatre, located on the mountain slope beside the summer home, and surrounded by pines and aspens, constructed under the sponsorship spon-sorship of the U. S. Forest Service, Ser-vice, is an outstanding addition to the recreational facilities in the canyon. Presentation of the amphi-theatre to the public was made by James E. Gurr, superintendent of the Wasatch National Forest and acceptance was made by Clifford E. Young, Alpine stake L. D. S. stake president, as representative of the three stakes, Lehi, Alpine and Tim-panogos. Tim-panogos. Wilford W. Warnick, Timpanogos stake president, offered the dedicatory prayer. The principal address of the evening eve-ning was delivered by Harrison R. Merrill of the B. Y. U. The program pro-gram featured musical numbers from Lehi, American Fork and Pleasant Grove1: The Lehi numbers consisted of a vocal selection by the Lehi P.-T. A. ladies chorus and a vocal solo by Joseph Coulam. A large number of people gathered at the Dell grounds early in the evening and enjoyed a picnic luncheon lunch-eon at 6 o'clock and following the dinner hour the American Fork City band entertained with a splendid concert. The dedicatory program, commenced at 8 o'clock. The amphi-theatre, completed irr time for use by the Mutuals of the three stakes during their outings through the summer, has a seating capacity of 800. It is equipped with a concrete stage, and its five sections sec-tions of half -log benches are served by steps and aisles of native stone. The Lehi Fifth ward will be the first ward to enjoy the new amphitheatre, amphi-theatre, their outings having com-imenced com-imenced Monday morning of thia week.
