Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of July 2, 1927) Considerable damage was done Wednesday of last week when the Murdock canal east of the Alpine road and north of this city overflowed over-flowed its banks. Immediately about thirty teams and 24 extra men were pressed into service and since that time have been working two shifts daily to repair the canal. It is not known exactly what caused the overflow of the stream, the most likely supposition being that the bank caved in and shut off the stream. The overflow of water went down into the creek bed.
