Show JOHN KNUDSEN'S 80TH BIRTHDAY TO BE CELEBRATED The sons and daughters of John Knudsen, former resident of Bingham and a Utah Copper company employee for over 25 years, will honor him on his 80th birthday at an "open house" Sunday, Sun-day, September 3, at his home at 2'H4 East 34 South, Mill Creek. A JOHN KNUDSEN A son of pioneer parents, Mr. Knudsen was born September 4, 1804, to John and Karen Anderson Ander-son Knudsen, in a covered wagon wa-gon on the plains of Wyoming. His early life was spent in Mt. Pleasant. He served eight years as sheriff of Sanpete county before be-fore coming to Bingham in 1911 to act as general foreman in charge of the guards at Utah Copper company property. - Mrr K-Hudse hs- takn ne-tive ne-tive interest in political and civic affairs and has served the Republican Re-publican party in various organizational organi-zational capacities. His wife, Mrs. Emma Christ-ensen Christ-ensen Knudsen, died March 26, 1937. He is the father of three sons and five daughters. They are: John Dewey, George W., Elmer V. Knudsen and Mrs. Vida Poulsen, Mrs. Ruby Parkin, all of Copperton; Mrs. Ann Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, Mrs. Gertrude Doidge, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Mabel Bo-berg Bo-berg of Bingham Canyon. Fourteen Four-teen grandchildren, four of whom are in the armed services, and five great grandchildren make up the remainder of Mr. Knud- sen's family. r |
