Show CITY SPONSORED YOUTH ACTIVITIES ATTRACT MANY Thirty-two Bingham and Copperton Cop-perton boys competed Wednesday Wednes-day for archery meet honors, winners of which are being determined de-termined at weekly meets being co-sponsored by the Bingham Junior Chamber of Commerce and city of Bingham Canyon. The Copperton team won over their young opponents from Bingham with Keith Cowdell, Don Stoddard, Bernarr Beard and Gene Olson placing high. Of these Bernarr is from Bingham. The meet was arranged under direction of Ken Shulsen and Art Bentley Jr. Next meet will be on Wednesday, September 6. The archers will meet just below be-low Copper Coal and Lumber company. A four-day stay at Butterfield canyon was the final canyon trip of the season of the several arranged ar-ranged by the city youth welfare wel-fare committee headed by Ken. Shulsen and Clarence Johnson, both city councilmen, for the summer. Directing the Butterfield out- ing were Phil Montoya and Reed Robinett, who supervised prepa-, prepa-, ration of meals, hiking and other - camp activities. r In the past three months more . than 130 boys have taken ad-t ad-t vantage of canyon outings at Dry . Fork, Bear Gulch and Butterfield canyon. |
