Show METAL STOCK PILES PRESENT CED PROBLEM The national committee for economic development, contending contend-ing that disposition of government govern-ment surplus goods is always a major economic task facing a nation na-tion at war's end, has announced itself as skeptical of the announced announc-ed plans of war agencies for stock piling of strategic metals. C.E.D.'s assertion that disposal of surplus stocks, endin of war contracts and ridding the government gov-ernment of its war plants and facilities fa-cilities are prime peace time problems cannot be denied. Utah Republicans, at their state platform convention Saturday in Salt Lake City, approved inclusion inclus-ion of a plank which advocated holding metal stockpiles for future fu-ture emergencies and tariffs on metals sufficient to protect the industry from low-wage foreign competition. |
