Show Parents of Edna McAllister Announce Her Marriage To Mr. Rasmussen ' Chanr.i.1 in every detail was the! 'wedding reception held at the L. D. S. Institute building in St. iGeor-e' Saturday evening, Dec. 27 ! .-.onorin,' Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ra-mu-s.-n. who were married just pr-ced.ng the reception by Bishop :. James Andrus of the West ward. ; A small -roup or relatives and in- j timate friends attended the cere- : rnony. The bride is the former Edna McAllister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. W. McAllister of this city, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto J. Rasmussen, of Richmond, Calif. The marriage culminates a courtship which began be-gan when Mr. Rasmussen made his first visit to St. George two years ago with friends of the McAllister Mc-Allister family. For the ceremony and reception, the bride wore her wedding gown which combined a billowing floor-length floor-length skirt of white marquisette with basque top of shirred white taffeta with plaited ruffle trim. Her dress-length veil of white ma-line ma-line was suspended from pearl clips and her boquet was of white carnations and red roses with a shower of rose-knotted ribbons falling to her skirt hem. Attending her as maid of honor was Miss Zola McGregor, gowned in an old-fashioned model of rose red taffeta. Miss Kate Bracken, niece of Mrs. Rasmussen was bridesmaid and wore a charming gown of brocaded pink slipper satin. Their corsages were of matching rosebuds. Andrew McMahon, also of Richmond, Rich-mond, Calif., an intimate friend of the groom, was best man. Also in the receiving line besides be-sides the bride's parents, were Mr. and Mrs. Antone Bracken, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Willard McAllister and Mr. and Mrs. Rex McAllister, Mrs. Edwin Riding of Pioche and Mrs. Edgar Beacham. Ushers were Lester Riding of Burbank, Calif., and Howard Carter. Car-ter. Mrs. Arthur Paxman, aunt of the bride, presided in the serving room, where pink and white flowers flow-ers were also used in decorating. Pouring were the Seaman twins, Mary and Dixie, gowned in orchid organdy. Carlotta Cannon, Ferrol Paxman, Ida Foremaster, Carma Cameron and Ellen Barton served. The serving table was covered with a heavy crocheted cloth over white satin centered with a bowl of pink and white sweet peas. Attending in the gift room were a bevy of charming young girls gowned in pastel shades and including in-cluding Mona Cox, Catherine Carter, Car-ter, Annette Pendleton, Helen Gardner and Thelma Lang. Mrs. Mae A. Pace directed the music program which included numbers by Ray and Stanley Schmutz, Melba Baker, Mary Lou Schmutz and Adrene Cottam; Mamie Paxman and Viola Gentry and violin duets by Von B. Cottam Cot-tam and Milton Schmutz. Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen left early Sunday for Richmond, where they will make their home. |
