Show Telegram Urges Dixie Cooperation In Securing Hospital Here Tuesday evening representatives from the civic clubs, city council, county commission and Chamber of Commerce met in answer to a telegram from Senator Abe Mur-dock Mur-dock to Mayor D. C. Watson. This telegram announced that Major-General Crandall of the U. S. Army will be in Salt Lake City soon to discuss the possibilities possibili-ties of some community in Utah getting the 1,000-bed emergency hospital the government expects to put up in the near future. The meeting was held in the Bank of St. George building. As a result of the meeting, a committee was chosen to meet Major-General Crandall in Salt Lake City and invite him to visit St. George and see the set-up here for such a hospital. The committee selected as delegates dele-gates from St. George were Mayor D. C. Watson, Jos. T. Atkin and Newell R. Frei. If the Government choses St. (Continued on page four) Hospital Site (Continued from first page) George as the location of this hospital, the city and county will donate the land for it. There are three sites in St. George which can be used for this building. At present other committees are working on the exact location and property rights. |
