Show Wm. T. Truman Honored With Birthday Party By -Mrs. KOSE BAKLOCKER ENTERPRISE, Utah. The family of William T. Truman honored him on his S3rd birthday with a dinner, held in the ward hall here. All of his children and many of his grandchildren were present. He married Mary Jane Hunt on Mar. 11, 1SS3, in the St. George Temple and to this union twelve children were born. His posterity now numbers twelve children, 59 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. He was born in South Cottonwood, Cotton-wood, now known as Salt Lake Citv, Dec. 20th, 1S53, a son of Jacob Michael and Elizabeth Boyce Truman. At the age of four, his parents were called to help settle St. George. He has been a resident of Washington county since that time, and for the past fifty years has resided at Hebron and Enterprise. Enter-prise. He has always been an active member of the L. D. S. church and has sent three sons on missions for the church. He has lived a life of adventure, adven-ture, and was present at the execution exe-cution of John D. Lee at the Mountain Meadow. His principle occupation had been stock-raising and at one time while riding after cattle in the mountain he roped a mountain moun-tain lion, measuring nine feet from tip to tip, and brought it in alive. Always, and at present he has enjoyed perfect health and he attributes at-tributes this to an outdoor active life and observing the Word of Wisdom. |
