Barker. They were H. A. John, son, of the Utah Oil Refining company; com-pany; Adrian Farr, L. B. Dean and W. Tashlma, and each was fined ?o, after pleading guilty to the charge against them. Numerous excuses were brought up by the defendants In justification of their offense, but the judge made clear the fact that, according to the law, automobiles cannot bo operated with, out a front and rear Hcenso number furnished the owner by tho secretary of state, without taking a chance of arrest and subsequently being fined or Imprisoned. In brief, his Honor de. olared, the numbers must be attached to the car described In tho applica. tion, or tho car must bo loft in tho garage. G. W. Gunnarson and Harold Evans were each fined $1 for riding a bicyeje on the sidewalk. |
