Show Chicago Grain Chicago, April 25. Wheat prices turned upward today after a hesitating hesitat-ing start. The ascent appeared to be due chiefly to increased hope that a solution would be found for the difficulty dif-ficulty between Germany and the I United States. Stormy weather that interfered with seeding in the spring crop belt also tended to lift the mar-ket. mar-ket. Early weakness was ascribed to lower quotations from Liverpool. The opening here, which varied from unchanged figures to 5-Sc down, with ' may at $1.11 1-2 to 3-4, and July at $1.12 1-8 to 1-2, was followed soon by a raise all around to well above yesterday's yes-terday's finish. Corn strengthened with wheat Be-' Be-' sides, attention was directed to esti- mates that 200,000 bushels of corn were daily being made into starch by Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky factories, presumably for export to be used in the manufacture of explosives. After opening l-8c off to l-Sgl-4c up the market scored a moderate general advance Lard went to a new high price record re-cord for this season. Big export lard transactions gave force to the buying and carried pork and ribs along. The wheat close was strong, 1 1-4 to 1 3-8c, net higher, with July at $1.14 1-8$114 1-4. The corn close was steady, at 1-4 to 3 Sc net advance. Chicago Hog Market. Chicago. April 25.
