San Francisco, April 24 The two ' leaders of the 1915 pennant chase will meet today at Recreation park to determine de-termine which shall occupy fourth hole In the 1916 chase, such has been the humbling of the mighty In the past few months. There Is doubt as to which team is the better, the difference differ-ence In standing between the Seals and the Utes today being about that which separated them at the close of last season. The Seals have strengthened considerably consid-erably and In their series with Los Angeles won four of seven games. Some of the additions are Gay, Coffey, Cof-fey, Oldham and Sheehan. They have been selected by Manager Wolverton In his hope to get recruits and still remain within the salary limit. Pa has a little margin yet with which to buy stars, but he is going to hold off a little longer. Pretty soon the, big league teams will be cutting. The Utes have been traveling fast lately and appear bent on scalping the coast menagerie before retiring to Salt Lake. One of the stlffest tests will be given the dark-skinned band this series, starting today. oo |
