Cleaning company, 307 Atlas block, is held at the. city jail on the charge of assault with Intent to commit a statutory offense upon Miss Florence Childs, aged 17, a stenographer sten-ographer The young woman swore to the complaint bofore Assistant County Attorney Jensnn and the war-, rant upon which Held was arrested by Detective Janney was Issued from Judgo Bowman's court. The girl's story Is that In answer to an advertisement she applied at Hold's office for employment as a stenographer, and was accepted. When she reported for work Friday afternoon, she says, Held locked the door and attacked her. While sho struggled with him another girl rapped rap-ped on the door, and Held shoved her into an inner room. Miss Childs says. Locking the door between that and the outer office Held sho says, quickly dismissed his visitor and resumed re-sumed his struggle with her. Miss Childs escaped, she doclares, ran Into In-to the elevator, then summoned assistance, as-sistance, notified the police and got the complaint against Held. "I have been on the trail of Held several months," said Captain of Detectives De-tectives Riley M. Beckstead at police headquarters last night, "and have thoroughly satisfied myself thnt ho Inus been using his otfice in the Atlas, At-las, block for the purpose of outraging outrag-ing young womon who Have applied for positions as stenographers.
