Show FFA Chapter is Kept Busy Winning Contests The high school Future Farmers directed by Lorin Phillips are a busy group these days and are taking tak-ing their share if not more, at the various contests. On Thursday, the chapter's land judging team took first place in the contest held at Mapleton under un-der direction of the soil conservation conserva-tion service for Utah county competing com-peting with teams from Provo high and Lincoln. The team was composed of Larry Christemsun, Rowley Curtis and Gordon Thorpe. Larry had the highest individual score and Rowley came third highest. high-est. Next Tuesday, they are sending five judging teafs to the state FFA contest at Logan. Milton Beck, Don Phillips and George Hone will comprise the livestock team; Rowley Row-ley Curtis, George Hone and Gordon Gor-don Thorpe, dairy; Brent Bird, Richard Barker, Larry Christensen and Jesse Warren, poultry; Dan Carley, Clark Palfreyman, Buddy Jolley and Rudy Bleggi, meat; Jim Diamond, Jerry Brailsford and Gene Tippotts, farm machinery. The FFA boys and their fathers enjoyed a fathers and son banquet and program Saturday at the Mapleton recreation hall with a total of nearly 75 chapter members mem-bers and guests attending. Paul K. Walker and Lynn C. Hanks, principals, A. W. Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, mayor and Carlile Bunker of Provo were guest speakers. Host-ssses Host-ssses were some of the boys mothers, moth-ers, MrsvA. T.
