Show Police Service Plan Approved At Council Meet The Springville 20-30 club, represented rep-resented by Floyd Stewart, offered their services to the city in manual man-ual labor on the recreational parks, at the council meeting Monday evening, according to report by Recorder Lloyd Ashcraft. The council stated that it would appreciate other such action by the civic clubs as there was considerable con-siderable work to be done in welding, weld-ing, digging post holes and putting up a fence around the new park. The council also approved a $20 monthly payment for police service to replace the old red light signal in the street. It was explained that when a policeman is needed, townspeople towns-people will call the local police station. If no one answers, the call will go automatically to the highway patrol office in Provo, which will in turn relay the call, by police radio, to the Springville police car. It was also announced at the council meeting that arrangements had been made with the bank and also a loan company to handle loans for sewer connections. Coupncilmen were also informed that sidewalk improvement No. 6, discontinued last fall, is being resumed re-sumed at 7th Soulh between Second Se-cond East and Fourth East; also between 7th and 8th south on 4th East, both sides and on two blocks beyond 10th South on 4th East. The council also received a formal for-mal acceptance from Mrs. Grace Alleman, stating that she would act on the Womens Division of the city Civil Defense. |
