A minister writing from Borne, tells of tho blessings brought to the l'opo by his busy and cheerful life, saying: say-ing: "Twenty-five years ago an old man, weak and thin, was selected by the Sacred College to be the successor of St. I'eter at Home. None of his contemporaries con-temporaries thought he would live lonr. Hut he shut himself up in the Vatican and kept busy and cheerful, and has seen all of his colleagues of a quarter of a century ago pass away from earth.
