On that occasion the fault Beemed to bo largely on the side ot the faculty ot tho school and ' the governor of the prefecture. News now comes of a strike at tho Middle School of Olta, In which tho students stu-dents appear to be chiefly to blame. The account given in Tokyo Journals Is that the elder students, angered by some severe strictures passed by Mr. Ukl, one ot the teachers, against an Increasing habit of imbibing sake, , demanded his removal. Apparently the principal yielded so far as to suspend sus-pend Mr. Ukl; but, at the same time, he rusticated some of the students. This led to a renewal and stronger ' demonstration on 'tho letter's part , They drew up a document arraigning arraign-ing tho principal and the teachers on various counts and demanding the dismissal of the wholo faculty. Thirteen Thir-teen of them wero now expelled, with tho result that meetings began to be held outsldo tho school for the pur- j poso of planning a general strike. Tho troublo Is not over.
