Harm-ston. With $493.91 carried over from the 1946 receipts an additional addi-tional S6598.13 was accumulated to bring total receipts for 1947 to $7092.04, the report shows. Donations, $1900 from the Centennial Commission. $1000 from Roosevelt City and $1083 from local business firms and individuals in-dividuals accounted for the bulk of the 1947 revenue. Gate receipts re-ceipts for the two-day show totaled to-taled $2047.90; race entree fees, $124.50; rodeo entree fees, $203.35; concessions, $204.38, and miscellaneous, $35. The total cost of producing the 1947 Indian Days celebration is listed in the report as $7066.08. The greatest single amount appearing ap-pearing in the expenditure column col-umn being $2483.35 for permanent perma-nent improvements to the grounds. Other expenditures arc reported as follows: rodeo, $1569.50; race meet, $868; street dance, $55; Indian lunch, $250; hay for stock, $141; pageant $546; advertising, $249.49; parade. pa-rade. $232.56; exhibits. $263.58, and taxes on admissions, $307.98. In terms of dollars and cents the 1947 Indian Days event might appear to have fallen short of the anticipated financial goal. But consideration of the fact that better than a hird of the total expenditures went into permanent improvement of the recreational grounds, will indicate indi-cate that this year's show was not a failure. Ground improvement, which called for an outlay of $2483.35, represents a physical asset from which future dollars and cents can be derived. |
