Show Ylyton Mrs. Grace Dalgleish Howard Funk was host to a group of young friends Tuesday evening at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Funk. The occasion celebrated his 13th birthday anniversary. Mrs. Homer Robinson entertained enter-tained members and guests of the Friday Bridge club last week. Present were Mrs. Wm. Koehler, Miss Anna Hunt, Mrs. Bliss Lott, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mrs. Wm. Preece, Mrs. W, R. Harris and Mrs. Roland Burdick. High score was won by Mrs. Robinson. The American Legion and Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit No. 5 held their regular regu-lar meetings at the Barracks Friday Fri-day evening. Commander Orval Gillen was in charge of the Legion Leg-ion meeting. Following the usual order of business, a report was given on the District Convention held at Vernal, October 5. Plans were made to prepare a program for Armtistice Day. President Gladys Dennis conducted con-ducted the Auxiliary meeting, where District No. 5 Convention reports were presented during the regular business session. A committee reported that a dance was scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Oasis to raise building funds. Levi Porritt was honored Tuesday evening when his sons and daughters, with their families, fam-ilies, gathered at his home to celebrate his 63rd birthday anniversary. an-niversary. A jolly evening was enjoyed climaxed by a delicious lunch. All members of the Myton school faculty attended the U. E. A. in Salt Lake City, Thursday, Thurs-day, Friday and Saturday. A new coat of aluminum paint on the Uintah Basin Honey Co. building has made a 'great improvement. im-provement. Lavar Peterson, owner own-er of the property, purchased a spray machine to paint the building. build-ing. Mrs. W. H. Linck and daughter, daugh-ter, LaRue, went to Mt. Pleasant Friday to attend the football game and to visit with LaRue's friends who are students at the , Wasatch Academy. A. C. Tolboe spent the weekend week-end at Provo, attending the weekend sport events and visiting visit-ing friends. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Murdock, of Duchesne, accompanied by Mrs. Murdoch's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Muir, of Oakland, Calif., visited 'Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, (Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Massie, of Ft. Duchesne, were Myton business busi-ness visitors Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Taylor announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Lillie Mae Taylor, to Joseph R. Clayburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Clayburn. of Mid-view. Mid-view. The marriage vows were exchanged in the Salt Lake L.D. S. Temple, Wednesday, October 8. The bride and bridegroom returned re-turned Sunday evening to. Lawrence Zirker and Mrs. Warren Odckirk came from Salt Lake City, Saturday, to close their mother's home and take their brother, George, to a hospital hos-pital for medical care. They report re-port their mother, who was taken to Salt Lake City recently, is still seriously ill. Mrs. Jay Smith has been nursing George and attending at-tending to the household duties at the Zirker home since Mrs. Zirker was rushed to Salt Lake City for medical attention. Mr, and Mrs, Herald Crapo enjoyed a surprise visit from Mrs. Crapo's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hawkins her brother and sister, Grant Hawkins and Agnes Hawkins, and her aunt, Mrs. Louise Pierce. They arrived Saturday morning from Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico. Mrs, Crapo and baby accompanied accompan-ied the party to Provo Sunday evening. Her brother anticipates enrolling as a student at the B. Y. U. and the other members of the family will then return to Myton with Mrs. Crapo for a i longer visit. A hard surface parking space made a nice improvement at the Myton ward chapel when busy workers gathered Friday to spread the fine gravel after the hot oil surface was prepared by the state -road equipment, following fol-lowing the surfacing of State Highway 40 through Myton. The Reed Garage is now open for business, giving Myton the much needed service a good garage gar-age can furnish its community. The bright flood lights add a touch of brilliance to improve a busy corner as it attracts the public. |
