Show Manila Clara Robinson Phone 784-5333 Chad Leith makes all star team Chad Leith, son of Stewart and Susie Leith made the Bridger Valley Little League All-star team. The All-star team will play their first game at Riverton, Wyoming July 24. The M & L Homemaker's Club will hold the July meeting at the Manila High School gym on July 15. Main attraction at-traction on the program for the evening is a fashion show to be presented by the 4-H girls. The girls will be modeling the outfits they have made this year in 4-H. This will give the Homemaker Club members a chance to see the girls work and see them model. The Daggett County Lions Club members are busy planning and preparing for the Cow Country Rodeo to be held Saturday and Sunday July 18-19. 18-19. The rodeo events start each day at 1 p.m. Saturday a dance will be held at the Manila School at 8:30 p.m. Rodeo queen this year is Darla Beck of McKinnon, Wyoming. The Cow Country Rodeo is an annual event in Manila. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Bingham are parents of a boy born July 4 in the Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs. The baby weighed 8 pounds and 5'i ounces at birth and will be named Carrie Lee. George Ellsworth, who suffered a heart attack Monday, was released from the hospital in Rock Springs Sunday. Twila Kesterson is spending a few days at home in Manila. Art Robinson of Rock Springs visited with his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Robiason Sunday and Monday of this week. Fred Robinson of Roosevelt visited at the Robinsons Monday also. Some moisture helped cool the temperature last week. From a high of 93, it dropped to 79. The low dropped from 65 to 48. A total of .23 inches of moisture fell with .06 falling on July 9 and .17 falling July 12. The Manila LDS Ward Elders are sponsoring a barbecue dinner at the Manila LDS Recreational Hall July 23. The proceeds are to help pay for the addition on the ward chapel. Manila Cub Scout Pack 26 will hold the July Pack meeting at the Manila LDS Recreational Hall July 22. Mr. and Mrs. Art Simccka have returned from a six week stay in Washington state. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Potter and daughter of Seattle, Washington left for home Wednesday after visiting at the home of Weldon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Potter. Haying is well underway in the valley. So far the rain has not been heavy enough to cause any trouble. The senior citizen dinners resumed several weeks ago after a three week vacation. They are held at noon Wednesdays. Mrs. Curtis Slaugh visited in Vernal last week. |
